NBCA Approves
Buckhead Council of Neighborhood's Resolution
to Protect Single Family Zoning

Dear ,

The City of Atlanta has recently issued proposals to significantly change single-family zoning in Atlanta.  This is a potentially explosive topic that will garner considerable public interest in the months to come.  NBCA will follow this topic closely and recently took its first official action by approving a Buckhead Council of Neighborhoods's resolution regarding this topic.

The Buckhead Council of Neighborhoods includes over 30 civic associations across Buckhead, including NBCA. BCN proposed to its member civic associations a resolution that:

  • Supports the retention of single-family zoning
  • Recommends that changes to the single-family code be considered in the context of the ongoing process to revise the City's zoning code
  • Asks that all BCN civic associations carefully review the City's proposed changes and subsequent legislation
  • Asks that BCN join with neighborhoods across the City in considering the City's proposals

To see the BCN resolution, please find the attached file at the very bottom of this email.

The NBCA Board met on February !0 to discuss the BCN resolution.  The Board voted to approve the resolution, as did over two-thirds of the BCN civic associations.  The vote by more than two-thirds of the member civic associations makes it an official BCN resolution that will now be passed on to the Mayor and City Council.

This will be a long and probably heated debate.  NBCA will monitor this topic and keep you informed throughout the process.

Thank you for your interest in this important issue for North Buckhead.
